Sheikh Ahmad Hudaify and Sheikh Khalid Muhanna Removed as Imams of Masjid An Nabawi
MADINA – As the 4-year contract for the Imams of Mosque An Nabawi expires, reports indicate that Sheikh Ahmad Hudaify and Sheikh Khalid Muhanna will be relieved from their duties.
End of 4-year contract
The 4-year contract of the Imam with the General Presidency has marked its end, after which Sheikh Ahmad Hudaify and Sheikh Khalid Muhanna have departed from their roles as Khateebs and Imams of Mosque An Nabawai.
In 2019, the Imams were appointed alongside Sheikh Yasir Ad Dawsary in Masjid Al Haram.
Earlier, it was revealed that at least two other Imams, along with Sheikh Yasir Ad Dawsary, were relieved from their duties of leading the two holy mosques after the expiration of their contracts.
However, there have been reports suggesting that the three imams who were excused from their duties may be re-appointed as guest imams for the month of Ramadan.
It is worth noting that this report has neither received denial nor affirmation from the General Presidency for the Religious Affairs of Two Mosques. Furthermore, there is an ongoing discussion regarding the Presidency’s silence regarding the removal of Sheikh Saud Ash Shuraim from his position inside the Haramain, which was revealed earlier this year.
