Food Authority Discards Over 44800kg Rotten Chicken, 300 Litres Adulterated Milk
PESHAWAR, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News – 24th Oct, 2023) Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Food Safety and Halal Food Authority on Tuesday conducted raids in Peshawar and Haripur districts and discarded over 44800 kg of rotten chicken meat and 300 litres of adulterated milk.
According to the spokesman of the Food authority, a team acting on a tip-off conducted a surprise raid on the meat-making units in Phando and Pajaggai areas here and found mince being prepared by machine from the meat and bones of chickens by adding artificial color.
The team confiscated more than 44800 kilograms of substandard minced meat and rotten chicken and discarded it on the spot.
The substandard minced meat was being supplied to different markets of Peshawar, said the spokesperson, adding that two chicken units were sealed and further legal action was initiated.
Similarly, the food safety team of Haripur checked suppliers of edible items in Tehsil Ghazi and impounded about 300 liters of adulterated milk and discarded it on the spot.
