Nasihah (Advice): Complete obedience to Allah Ta’ala
Sayyiduna Ali Radhiyallahu Anhu reported that Rasulullah (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam) said: “There is no obedience to anyone if it is disobedience to Allah. Verily, obedience is only in good conduct.” [Sahih Bukhari]

Question and Answer:
- I would like to grow a beard, however, my spouse does not find it attractive. I am unsure as to how to go about it as I would like to grow a beard, however, I don’t want to burden my marriage.
- It is compulsory (Waajib) for a male to allow his beard to grow to a minimum of a fist length.
Compulsory acts are non-negotiables and may not be set aside due to personal dislikes.
We encourage you to advise your wife accordingly with kindness and to create an Islamic environment in your home through which the fulfilment of Islamic duties becomes easy. [Mahmoodiyyah 19: 414]
