Week of January 26 Wrapped: “Against All Evidence, Hamas Says It Morally, Religiously Opposes Harming Women, Kids”
I am back sooner than I thought I would be with our weekly roundup #Wrapped, but this time the news is like no other! If you think life events cannot get any wilder than this, keep reading because we have the week of January 26 wrapped up for you so that you do not have to take mental notes.
Spoiler Alert: Number two is so apocalyptic that I advise you to ask Siri or Alexa to set the right ambiance for you.
Take a deep breath, cross your fingers and toes, open your eyes, and relax your shoulders and jaws — yup, that is the posture. Alright, here are the top five stories that stood out to us this week.
5. “Journalist Motaz Azaiza showed the world what Palestinians endure in war. Now he’s left Gaza”
I prayed to God last time for some good news! And if I had known it would be granted, I would have asked for all of us to enter Paradise. Now, we do not know all the reasons why Motaz had to evacuate but I hope it is not a threat. However, this man needed a break from experiencing this unimaginable terror firsthand. If anything, all Palestinians deserve a break — they are heroes.
4. “Israel proposes 2-month fighting pause in Gaza for release of all hostages”
For the Zionist Nazi Benjamin Netanyahu, it is never a permanent ceasefire. He is suggesting a pause until he makes sure he can get the remaining Israelis back before he intensifies his genocidal operation at an even more massive scale.
At this point, he really thinks that releasing Palestinian hostages is a good deal because he is going to “flatten” the area anyway, so why not make them all cramped in one small segment that can be easily targeted and even desecrated? And I am not making stuff up, he said himself that from the river to the sea it would be Israel. But keep dreaming because this is the very first genocide where the entire world is an eyewitness.
3. “Against all evidence, Hamas says it morally, religiously opposes harming women, kids”
I have never come across a headline funnier than this before — for real. They have taken the trend of “being delulu is the solulu” to new heights. By consensus, we are not responsible for what Hamas did or does just as we are not responsible for whatever happened on 9/11. Because with that same logic, are you responsible for all the White mass shooters out there? Are you responsible for the U.S. inventing the Taliban? Are you responsible for the destruction of Syria? The war in Iraq? The civil war in Sudan? You might as well be.
But, we are responsible for voicing the sufferings of innocent lives within our communities worldwide — be they Uyghurs, Sudanese, Congolese, Palestinians, Ukrainians, Afghanis, Kashmiris, Somalis, Pakistanis, Syrians, Egyptians, Algerians, Nigerians, Moroccans, Americans, Canadians, and more — just as you are responsible for presenting everything in this article of yours except for facts. The genocide is on air; you cannot project your side’s wrongdoings when at least billions of people are watching. And in case you want evidence of Israelis being delusional, watch this hilarious reel.
2. “A moment of historic danger: It is still 90 seconds to midnight”
Just days ago, before getting the week of January 25 wrapped up, I told you all that we are approaching something that is bigger than us. The Bulletin of the Atomic Scientists warns everyone that our planet is 90 seconds away from “midnight,” which signifies doomsday. Luckily, we still have time to pack our bags and flee with our lives to any planet within the habitable zone inside the TRAPPIST-1 system — and it is not that far, just around 39 to 40 light-years away, you know. Just make sure we do not invite Zionists or anyone with the extremist settler colonial mindset.
1. “GmbH closed Paris Men’s with a powerful message for peace in Palestine”
Great one from Dazed Digital! Our Muslim Girl Islamophobia sirens have been going off on Instagram since we saw the first version of the ridiculous review from Women’s Wear Daily (WWD) that described a jacket to have resembled “a suicide bomber’s vest.” Dazed Digital and Slow Factory quickly stepped in to help us call out BS like this one that they had to update the review. But no worries, Slow Factory took screenshots faster than your ex would!
For this week of January 26 of our “Wrapped” weekly news roundup, I really want to express that I cannot fathom how utterly insane some people out there still behave when we are in the 21st century. How many centuries do we need to stop being inhuman, voracious, and complicit?
Dear #Wrapped girls, it is a wrap. Go wrap your hijab if you wear one and touch some grass before it is game over for us on this planet — because being at 90 seconds at this point is just like trying to score a goal in the 90th minute.
BREAKING: ICJ rejected Israel’s appeal to dismiss the case! Judges have ruled that the case may involve genocide as per the Genocide Convention. South Africa has just won their application (15-2 and 16-1)!
