Shawwal Moon Not Sighted In Saudi Arabia, Eid al-Fitr 2024 on April 10

Saudi Arabia is getting ready to celebrate Eid on Friday, April 10 2024 as Saudi Arabia is welcoming the month of Shawal on Friday. As Eid moon not sighted today in the Kingdom.

Earlier, Astronomer Issa Al-Ghafili said that today it was impossible to see the Shawwal crescent because the moon will set before the sun and the new crescent will not be born until sunset.

The weather in the kingdom is a bit cloudy, but there was no obstruction in the observation of the crescent. Chief Astronomer Abdullah Khudairi also criticized social media users who act as specialists regarding moon sightings.

Mosques in Saudi Arabia are preparing for the last Taraweeh prayer of 2024.

The process of sighting the Shawwal crescent started at 6:14 PM (Saudi Standard Time) at Tumair and Sudair Observatories in Saudi Arabia.
