MEDINA — A major development project is underway at the historic Trench (Al-Khandaq) battlefield area in Madina, featuring the rehabilitation of six significant historical mosques and the creation of a new ‘Trench Simulation’ site.

The project focuses on rehabilitating mosques associated with prominent companions of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him), including:
- Abu Bakr Al-Siddiq Mosque
- Umar ibn Al-Khattab Mosque
- Ali ibn Abi Talib Mosque
- Sa’d ibn Mu’adh Mosque

Alongside this preservation work, developers will create a new ‘Trench Simulation’ site designed to visually depict the historic Battle of the Trench (Ghazwat al-Khandaq).

This simulation will provide visitors with an immersive educational experience, helping them visualize the strategies and events of one of the most significant conflicts in early Islamic history.
