O Soul, Drown Yourself in Sorrow Over Him – Abdur Rahman’s Corner
Peace, one and all…
O soul, drown yourself in sorrow over him, for patience is the key to happiness.
Wait until his healing balm arrives, for patience is the key to happiness.
Swallow the pain until suddenly His mighty Footstool and Throne
appear before you, for patience is the key to happiness.
Become shining with laughter by He who is the light of the world so that you become
a joy to the world and safe from mourning, for patience is the key to happiness.
Once my heart abandoned its love for man and woman,
love became its kith and kin, for patience is the key to happiness.
If you make your heart a mirror, polished of pride and rancour,
you will see His breath on it, for patience is the key to happiness.
When you bow to fate like the bent celestial sphere,
you will escape from these elliptical heavens, for patience is the key to happiness.
When you escape from egoism, you will grab the devil by the forelocks
and smite his neck, for patience is the key to happiness.
Good luck will find you and good fortune will come before you.
You will be blessed by their arrival, for patience is the key to happiness.
There is a thief in your inner essence who intends to ruin everything you have built.
Bind him well right now, for patience is the key to happiness.
God has a beautiful world in store, so don’t even look at this world for a moment.
None but God is familiar with it, so remember, for patience is the key to happiness.
Silence, don’t explain the secret. Wait for when the secret
‘from His presence’ [Quran 27:6] turns things inside out, for patience is the key to happiness.
