Dua For Safety, Well-Being, And Protection
You wake up every day not knowing what waits outside your door. Your health could change. Your family could face trouble. Your wealth could disappear. Your safety could be threatened from any direction.
The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) understood this better than anyone. Every single morning and evening, these words left his blessed lips. They ask for everything a person could possibly need. Forgiveness. Well-being. Protection from every angle. This dua wraps you in a shield that nothing can penetrate.
This comprehensive supplication is recorded in Sunan Ibn Majah. Ibn Umar (رضي الله عنه) said that the Messenger of Allah never abandoned these prayers every morning and evening.

Transliteration:
Allahumma inni as’alukal-‘afwa wal-‘afiyah fid-dunya wal-akhirah. Allahumma inni as’alukal-‘afwa wal-‘afiyah fi dini wa dunyaya wa ahli wa mali. Allahum-mastur ‘awrati, wa amin raw’ati wahfazni min bayni yadayya, wa min khalfi, wa ‘an yamini wa ‘an shimali, wa min fawqi, wa ‘audhu bika an ughtala min tahti.
Meaning:
O Allah, I ask You for forgiveness and well-being in this world and in the Hereafter. O Allah, I ask You for forgiveness and well-being in my religious and my worldly affairs, my family and my wealth. O Allah, conceal my faults, calm my fears, and protect me from before me and behind me, from my right and my left, and from above me, and I seek refuge in You from being taken unaware from beneath me.
How many times should you recite this dua?
- Recite this dua every morning and every evening, following the Prophet (PBUH)’s example.
The Prophet never abandoned these supplications. That means he said them every single day without fail. Morning and evening. Rain or shine. Peace or war. This was his routine.
Making this dua part of your daily rhythm connects you to his sunnah in the deepest way. It protects your body, your family, and your soul. Nothing else offers that kind of security.
