Hak’dır Allah’ım Muhammed Mahım – Abdur Rahman’s Corner
Peace, one and all…
The 22nd of Ramadan marks the Urs, or death-anniversary, of Beloved Hazret Imam Ali (as). In honour of this pivotal figure of the Islamic tradition, I wanted to share a beautiful Turkish ilahi, Hak’dır Allah’ım Muhammed Mahım, performed by Latif Bolat.
Text
Haktır Allah’ım Muhammed mahım
Ali’dir şahım efendim Allah eyvallah
Aşka burhanım Sırrı Rahmanım
Derde dermanım efendim Allah eyvallah
Ali’den nimet Veliden himmet
Dervişten hizmet efendim Allah eyvallah
Yüzümüz yerde özümüz darda
Huzuru pirde efendim Allah eyvallah
Münir’e kemter sizden ey server
İsteriz kevser efendim Allah eyvallah
This is a partial rendition of the original poem, which is longer. Source

The Truth is (my) Allah, Muhammad (my) perfection
Ali (my) king, Allah Eyvallah
My proof in love, my secret of the Most Merciful
My remedy in distress is Allah; Eyvallah
Blessings through Ali, Care from the Veli (Friend, Saint)
Service from the dervish, Allah Eyvallah
We keep our gaze lowered, and our hearts in the present
In the presence of the Pir, Allah Eyvallah
