Juz 10 Takeaway: Allah (SWT) is the Best of All Planners
Juz 10 of the Quran, spanning from verses 8:41 to 9:92, is a treasure trove of wisdom and guidance for us. Let’s get right into our Juz 10 reflections and lessons for our #MuslimGirlRamadanBookClub series.
Today’s main themes revolve around the power of unity, the wisdom behind Allah’s plans, and the tests and trials we experience throughout life.
The power of unity
Unity holds immense significance in Islam, fostering strength, solidarity, and harmony within the community of believers. In Juz 10 of the Quran, we encounter verses that emphasize the importance of unity and cooperation among believers. Let’s explore two such verses:
Obey Allah and His Messenger and do not dispute with one another, or you would be discouraged and weakened. Persevere! Surely Allah is with those who persevere.
— Quran (8:46)
The verse here emphasizes how important patience is to us as a necessary virtue. It warns against doubting and giving up, highlighting the need for patience in preserving fortitude and resiliency throughout trying circumstances. Through enduring hardships with patience, we as Muslims should show our steadfast faith in Allah’s perfect purpose.
The takeaway from this verse is clear: Rather than giving up or arguing, we should practice patience. We can find comfort and strength in patience because we know that Allah (SWT) is with those who endure patiently. Being patient not only helps one’s faith but also opens doors for blessings and abundance.
The believers, both men and women, are guardians of one another. They encourage good and forbid evil, establish prayer and pay alms-tax, and obey Allah and His Messenger. It is they who will be shown Allah’s mercy. Surely Allah is Almighty, All-Wise.
— Quran (9:71)
This verse emphasizes the unity and mutual support among Muslims. It draws attention to our shared duty to uphold morality and avoid immorality in order to build an ecosystem based on justice and virtue. Through unity and cooperation, we can strengthen one another and earn Allah’s mercy and blessings.
The takeaway from this verse is profound: We are not alone in our journey. We relate with one another, and support and uplift one another through actively taking part in acts of worship like congregational prayer and charitable endeavors. In doing so, we can all win Allah’s grace and direction.
Trust in Allah’s plan
Trusting in Allah’s plan is a fundamental aspect of our Islamic faith, acknowledging His wisdom and sovereignty over all affairs. In Juz 10 of the Quran, we encounter verses that reinforce the importance of trusting in Allah’s divine decree. Let’s delve into two such verses:
This is because Allah would never discontinue His favor to a people until they discontinue their faith. Surely Allah is All-Hearing, All-Knowing.
— Quran (8:53)
This verse emphasizes that we should trust that Allah (SWT) will never deprive us of His beautiful blessings as long as we hold onto our faith in Him (SWT). So for those of us who fear the unknown and the future, Allah (SWT) is with us as long as we remember Him.
Say, “Nothing will ever befall us except what Allah has destined for us. He is our Protector.” So in Allah let the believers put their trust.
— Quran (9:51)
This verse assures us to put our faith in Allah’s providence and divine plan. It teaches that nothing happens to us unless Allah wills it to and that only He can keep us safe and provide for us. By putting our faith in Allah (SWT), we can rest assured that He is in charge of everything and will lead and safeguard us from the difficulties of life.
The test of wealth and poverty
The Quranic verses within Juz 10 offer profound insights into the test of wealth and poverty, reminding believers of the transient nature of worldly possessions and the importance of gratitude and contentment. Let’s explore two such verses:
So let neither their wealth nor children impress you ˹O Prophet˺. Allah only intends to torment them through these things in this worldly life, then their souls will depart while they are disbelievers.
— Quran (9:55)
The above verse warns us against admiring or feeling jealous of the wealth and offspring of nonbelievers. It serves as a reminder to us that material belongings are not a gauge of success or morality in Allah’s sight (SWT). Rather, having children and being wealthy can be difficulties and tests for a person; the real test of success is faith and submission to Allah. I love this verse because it gives us a reality check about what truly matters. After all, have we not all heard of stories of very rich and successful people taking away their lives out of depression and sadness after achieving everything their younger selves have ever dreamed of?
The Quran’s Juz 10 is full of pearls that we should consider and apply to our lives to deepen our faith and reliance on Allah (SWT). So what are your own lessons and reflections from this Juz? Tag us and let us know!
