English Translation

I am utterly bewildered,
I am lamenting and weeping;
At every moment my tongue
Wishes to say “Hu.”

From my eyes tears
Begin to flow;
All creatures—beasts and birds—
Wish to say “Hu.”

At night standing in prayer,
By day fasting,
The people of Truth always
Wish to say “Hu.”

Abandon all that is other,
Do not be a hypocrite;
Whoever loves God
Wishes to say “Hu.”

Who seeks gnosis,
Who seeks divine grace,
Who seeks the Beloved
Wishes to say “Hu.”

Hu is the Greatest Name,
Say Hu, Hu, my master;
Kuddusi forever
Wishes to say “Hu.”
